Water Purification
Water purification remains a top priority for the FIAI staff. Haitian villagers still struggle from the grips of the cholera pandemic that has overspread the nation. Through funds generated from numerous FIAI donors over the past 15 years, we have delivered 410 water filters to Haitian villagers. This program provides Haitian families with materials and training needed to help stem waterborne illnesses like typhoid, cholera and chronic diarrhea that cause more than half of the deaths in the country each year. The FIAI mission has provided hundreds of water filters to Haitian villagers for more than a decade.
Faith in Action International is providing a safer and more abundant source of water to children and their families through spring caps, rainwater reservoirs, and water filters. Children no longer need to die from contaminants in water when simple solutions such as these are used. Our programs have helped over 17,000 people have access to safer water.
Your gift of $70 will provide a family with a bucket water filter system, installation, training, and follow up. Access to clean, fresh water is a main concern in Haiti, where waterborne illnesses, such as typhoid, cholera, and chronic diarrhea are the cause of more than half of the deaths in the country every year. Contaminated water is also one of the leading causes of childhood illness. Providing a water filter assures a safer source of water to families.
